Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal data, and your rights. Last updated September 2026.

Who we are

This website is operated by You're Social Ltd (trading as Your Personal Trainers), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13934291. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy questions, email matt.kerr@yourpersonaltrainers.co.uk.

What we collect

When you contact us. If you use our enquiry form, book a consult or email us, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

If you become a client. We hold the information we need to coach you safely and effectively, such as your goals, training history and any relevant health information. You give us this directly, and we only ask for what we need.

When you browse the site. We collect anonymous usage information, such as which pages are visited, how people found the site and what type of device they used. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

The nutrition calculator works entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored anywhere.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • Replying to enquiries and arranging consults: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
  • Coaching clients: the performance of our contract with you. Any health information is used only with your explicit consent, so we can coach you safely.
  • Analytics cookies: your consent, which you give or refuse using the cookie banner.
  • Cookieless site statistics: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your data or use it for anything you would not expect.

Who we share it with

We only use trusted services that help us run the business. Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms:

  • Cloudflare hosts this website and handles its security.
  • Web3Forms delivers messages sent through our enquiry form to our inbox.
  • Google provides our booking calendar (if you book a consult), our email, Google Analytics and the fonts used on this site.
  • Ahrefs provides cookieless website statistics.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent contractual protections.

Cookies and analytics

We use two analytics tools to understand how the site is used:

  • Google Analytics only sets cookies if you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. Until then, it runs without cookies and receives only basic, anonymous signals that cannot be used to identify you.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not store personal identifiers. It gives us simple, anonymous visit statistics.

We also store a small note in your browser remembering whether you accepted or declined cookies, so we do not ask you on every page. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you view the site.

You can change your cookie choice at any time: .

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to respond and follow up. Client records are kept while you are a client and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal and business obligations. Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of each analytics provider.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address above and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
